New and adapted actions and indicators to help cities integrate climate mitigation and adaptation into urban food policies received formal endorsement at the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP) Global Forum in Milan, following presentation at a parallel event organized by RUAF, Red de Municipios por la Agroecología (RMAe) and FAO.

Urban agriculture (UA) is a phenomenon as old as cities themselves. Seen by some as a curiosity and by others as a survival strategy, it is also recognized as an element of sustainable urban development.

RUAF, in collaboration with Aeres University of Applied Sciences Almere and under the EU-funded European Forum for Urban Agriculture (EFUA) project, is calling for greater international cooperation to advance Urban Agriculture (UA) around the world.

In collaboration with RMAe and the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP), RUAF has developed a new tool to support cities in aligning urban food policy actions with climate mitigation and adaptation goals.
