This resource book is the results of the research project “Strengthening Organisations of Urban Producers”. This research project studied the roles and functioning of urban farmer organisations in the Netherlands, Hungary, Peru, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. Also, the project identified effective ways to strengthen such organisations. The results were published in Urban Agriculture Magazine # 17 and integrated in this FAO publication which is a practical guide for working with low income urban and peri-urban producers organisations.
