Shaping food security narratives: A strategic tool for climate action
This report is based on an international research project, led by RUAF and commissioned by ClimateWorks Foundation. It explores how food security narratives can be shaped to support climate mitigation and adaptation – in ways that give agency to farmers and local communities, rather than being dominated by powerful corporations.
The report presents a porous typology of food security narratives, and examines shared values, and tensions and global trends.
It identifies which food security narratives have the greatest potential to support climate actions, and gives helpful guidance for funders, NGOs, academic-activists, and a host of other stakeholders to leverage opportunities to shape narratives – as well as strategic tools to maximize them.
