Enhancing International Cooperation and Development through Urban Agriculture (UA)

As part of the European Forum on Urban Agriculture (EFUA), RUAF and Aeres University of Applied Sciences Almere developed a new policy brief that outlines how to scale the impact of Urban Agriculture through stronger international cooperation.

This brief identifies 8 key barriers that currently limit the development and full valorisation of urban agriculture. It then proposes 6 concrete mechanisms to overcome these challenges, offering practical pathways to integrate Urban Agriculture into international cooperation and sustainable development strategies to unlock its full potential.

Clear calls to action are provided for stakeholders ranging from national and local governments to the European Commission, civil society organisations, development banks and agencies, city network coordinators, NGOs, UN agencies, research networks, universities, and businesses of all types and sizes throughout the food system.
