PROLINNOVA is an international NGO-led initiative to build a global learning and advocacy network on promoting local innovation in ecologically-oriented agriculture and NRM. The focus is on the dynamics of IK, and on how research, extension and other actors in development can strengthen the capacities of farmers to adjust to changing conditions: to develop and adapt their own site-appropriate systems and institutions of resource management. Country programmes have been built up in Cambodia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nepal, Niger, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda, supported by IIRR in the Philippines, ETC EcoCulture and the Centre for International Development at the Free University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and Agridea, the Swiss Centre for Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas.
